I Like the Blues
Pam Blanchard

I like the yellows, of a springtime daffodil.
I like the white of the snow, as it lays upon the hill.
I like the red of a tomato when it's ripe on the vine.
But nothin' compares to the blues in my mind.
I like the oranges, of the sun as it goes down.
I like the color of peoples skin,
with all those pretty shades of brown.
I like the purple of an eggplant,
and the green of the leaves.
But nothin' feels like blues feel to me.

I like the blue of my blue jeans.
And the blue of the sea.
I like the blue of the blue sky,
That's hangin' over me.
I like the cool way it feels,
And the way it seems to soothe.
Though it's just my point of view,
I will always choose the blues.

I like the blue of my blue jeans.
And the blue of the sea.
I like the blue of the blue sky,
That's hangin' over me.
I like the cool way it feels,
And the way it seems to soothe.
Though it's just my point of view,
I will always choose the blues.

I like the black-
Of the road beneath my feet.
I like the pink of a rose,
When it's fresh and smellin' sweet.
I like all colors of the rainbow,
All the colors that I meet.
But don't like none-
Not even one-
As much as the blues.
