On May Fifth & Sixth downtown will be in full swing with the 29th annual Athens Human Rights Festival on College Square. The festival is an annual springtime political and cultural event for the people and by the people. I am in charge of the children’s area and the family entertainment. This is my tenth year as a volunteer, and I am so proud of the growth of our program. What was not much more than sidewalk chalk is now a fun-filled and family-friendly centerpiece of each year’s Athens Human Rights Festival. Children hang out all day in the children’s area which hosts instrument making, jewelry making, face-painting , sidewalk chalk art, sandboxes and free snacks and water.Below is the schedule of entertainment for youth of all ages. I hope to see you downtown!Pam
